About the Farm
The Hillman Family came to Havenwood Farm in Fall 2023, when it was still known as "Spring Mill Farm". Read about our goals, progress, and people below.
What We Do
We want to give back to our communities, providing mutual aid and learning as well as a place to congregate. Above all, Havenwood was named after our intention to provide a safe haven from the chaos of today's world. Havenwood is a place of safety for our community, including our agricultural, educational, and activist connections. From our inception to this very webpage, our workers and volunteers are local voices from around Howard County. We hope one day to sell our wares at local farmers markets, expand our event offerings, and join a growing network of small farms across Maryland who share our beliefs, ideals, and aspirations.
Who We Are
The Hillman family are a colorful, rambunctious group of family and friends. While each of us have forged our own unique path, we always return to each other in times of joy and sorrow alike. We believe in reciprocation between human, land, animal, and spirit. Our approach to farm life is built on this belief. Through Havenwood Farm, we grow as stewards of the land and herd.
